tauberbach

Alain Platel

Alain Platel, grand master among choreographers, finally comes back to Zurich this October presenting his piece «tauberbach». For this project, Platel continues his research on the development of a language of movement which he describes as bastard dance and which he already had shown in «in pitié!», «Out of Context – for Pina» and in «C(H)OEURS (2012)». It is about movements that happen when dancers explore areas of their consciousness that are yet untouched by civilisation.

Starting point for «tauberbach» is the documentation «Estamira» by Marcos Prado about a schizophrenic woman in Brazil who lives on a rubbish dump. Survival without loosing human dignity is a central point in this work. Another source of inspiration is «Tauber Bach», a project by Artur Zmijewski with music by Bach, sung by deaf singers, music of an enormous force.

«tauberbach» was invited to Theatertreffen 2014.
