It's the story of Kevin, a guy from South Central, Los Angeles. Kevin has two problems: on the one hand he's touched by art, and on the other hand he has a rapper in the head.
«I wanted to talk about social space and real space. In Los Angeles, the social mix does not really exist, it is a large sprawling city where people stay in their neighbourhood. For Black Diamond, I wanted a character who spends his time wandering in other areas of the city, someone curious who shows us the city, a kind of prowler.
Black Diamond is also a film about art and showing artworks. I wanted this film to be a real space for that. So I invited four artists and a curator to propose works for the movie. We worked on the choice of artworks and we also adapted the screenplay for them.

Samir Ramdani (born in 1979) is an artist and filmmaker based in Paris. His films have been shown at FID (Marseille) and at the Festival de Cinéma de Clermont-Ferrand, among others.
