MYSTERY MAGNET
Mean sharks, foam sprays, dart showers, enormous woollen wigs and walking trousers populate the stage of «Mystery Magnet». These are all hilarious, absurd and surrealistic figures, bent on destroying each other. Miet Warlop, a visual artist turned theatre maker, shows no mercy to her often very cute toys – each gets its comeuppance sooner or later.
With the kind of gleeful brutality we normally only see in cartoons, the funny creatures colourfully finish each other off. Fluffy mop creatures slump down, blue, green and yellow blood splashes everywhere. «Mystery Magnet» sketches out a haunted world of childlike wickedness in which humour is born from sadness und magic from the prosaic. Gaudy, garish and excruciatingly funny, this is an evening unlike any other.
