Don't Judge
One man, two turntables. The vinyl is turning – his voice resounds. Fragments of conversations, instructions, sounds are mixed and reconfigured into a new language. A real embarras de choix. He has to decide how to manipulate the vinyl. His body is torn between the two turntables, between learnt and intuitive patterns of movement. He tries to use his body and language to influence the audience. But does he have any control over these media or are they controlling him?
In his first solo work, the performer and DJ Nic Lloyd is testing the possibilities of his own body to distinguish between conscious and unconscious patterns of movement and to make them visible. He explores the field of cognitive processes and faces them in a sonorous performance which pushes the boundaries between dance and DJ-ing.
