What is home? Who and what constitute home – and who and what doesn’t? And why so in the first place? Alright, so let’s put it this nice way: let’s celebrate at the home place of the homeless: at the pub, at Chez Ois (Chez Us). We are putting the question forward of what is holding us together: in real at the regulars’ table and virtually on the web. In the city and in the countryside. In Switzerland or somewhere totally different. A theatre-music-performance-installation with musicians and actors, authors, baristas and other specialists. Open to everybody. Free and al fresco.
On 18 September we open the Barfactory Chez Ois at the Judith-Gessner-Platz. From there and during two weeks we will be developing an extraordinary format: the bar opens at 6pm, at 7pm our barvatars and our theatre and music programme focus. Various camera perspectives are streamed. Barvatars can be controlled from the web, so, wherever you are, you can be part of Chez Ois. Authors Katja Brunner and Gesine Danckwart are writing this bar saga live on-site, we ask our guests about the rhythm of their pub home, about the rituals of their peer group. Bands and musicians are playing their very special Chez Ois set at the counter. Barvatar Beatrice Fleischlin roams Switzerland bringing together the fire fighter from Appenzell and the Zurich city slicker.
