Spontanfestival vor Ecopop
On November 30th the Swiss population will vote about the Ecopop initiative. In order to protect the «natural livelihoods» of Switzerland from overpopulation, immigration into Switzerland shall be limited. More money shall be given for educational programmes on birth control in poor countries. Even if the questions raised by the initiative are valid, they can be understood as race baiting and highly dangerous. Its organisers have been called «confused scientists», «scary ecologists» and «Birkenstock racists» and the initiative has been compared to fashist thoughts. A critical discussion, a resolute positioning and consequentially a political stance are only effective BEFORE the vote.
The collective neue Dringlichkeit therefore organises a spontaneous festival as a platform on November 25th. All formats welcome: speech, video, performance, call, music, ... everything will be shown.
Time limit: 15 minutes. If you want to show or tell something, please come at 7pm, if you want to watch, please come at 8pm. Afterwards there will be a discussion about the initiative, alternative answers and actions. There will be a minimal infrastructe composed of a projector and a sound system.
