With her solo performance «Freak» Stefanie Sourial walks the thin line between disgust and arrousal, discipline and madness, good manners and uncontrolled power: patient Valerie IX has been haunted by unbearable disgust and aggression towards other people. She dreads people disgustingly chewing gum or shamelessly clearing their throats when sitting next to her. For the attentive audience in the role of the therapist she now recounts family stories about good manners and old traditions and describes the futile fight to free herself from learned etiquette and rigurous norms.
