Kinder des Wohlstands

Tobias Bühlmann/asuperheroscape

Grown up in the hope, or rather in the certain expectation that history would have a happy ending an entire generation dreamed of a life in freedom, total autonomy and happy self-realization. But somehow things are not turning out that way. Can anybody make it work? Has our parents’ intellectual heritage lost its positive touch in the last couple of years? Why? What is lost? Who can help in this situation?
On a battered market place a wise authority comes to the rescue, a horse. Also featuring: T. and A, between 19 and 40 years young, high cultural capital, talent & charm, clear, economic means rather limited until now, searching.
Can the horse help them? With empathy and asking for the best only it invites them to join a tour de force to the unique chances and astonishingly limited possibilities. Who wants to come along? Who can ride the trend and the wave, who knows how to surf, who can at least swim? Who wants to learn?
Under the eyes of the audience a game turns into a struggle. Hysterically, the two protagonists are fighting with the horse about possibilities of the self, of dignity, of recognition and social survival. A theatre priest promises lodging but the features of the horse are hard to guess. Still, there should be hope.

Through a burning glass asuperheroscape show the protagonists of the former middle classes and their bizarre everyday behaviour after seven years of crisis. Aesthetically grotesque, theatrically harassing, discursive and direct.
