We start with nothing. As such, the perception of one’s own person, being-for-itself is real. But without a counterpart that actually sees you this is irrelevant. We carry everything inside ourselves. Yet, we are nothing unless another person looks at us. It is in this moment, when eyes make contact, that one’s own existence becomes reality, we become something and others are becoming as well. We are visible.
