The Internet

Mårten Spångberg

«The Internet» is a performance which turns your evening into a visit of a wonder-ful yet disconcerting landscape. Never have three and a half hour felt any better, more entertaining or more relaxing. Mårten Spångberg and the three outstanding dancers Sandra Lolax, Hanna Strandberg und Rebecka Stillman explore the effects of digital communication on choreography: social networks, health apps, games, dating tools and many more such things are being used to create dance, rhythm and ambiance. The title is a metaphor for a monumental albeit immaterial structure without a beginning nor an ending – just like the internet. The performance invites the audience to walk around, to look, to converse – even to leave and come back again.

The Swedish performer, choreographer and theoretician Mårten Spångberg has worked with Xavier le Roy, Christine de Smedt (les ballets C de la B), Jan Ritsema and with the Frankfurt Ballet. Together with the architect Tor Lindstrand he foun-ded the «International Festival» during which architecture and dance come to-gether to organize time and space. His latest works have been critically acclaimed, his creations having been called «unspectacular and assumingly revolutionary».
