Schönheitsabend
We love them all! With their performance trilogy on contemporary representations of the body – «Kein Applaus für Scheisse» (No Applaus for Crap) being the first and «Wellness» the last part – Florentina Holzinger and Vincent Riebeek have established their reputation in the European dance and theatre scene. In «Schön-heitsabend» (Beauty Night) they look back on – almost forgotten – role models throughout the history of dance: choreography couples such as Vaslav Nijinsky and Ida Rubinstein or Anita Berber and Sebastian Droste, in which they discovered precursors of their own transgressive aesthetics. Without truly mastering the techniques of ballet themselves, they began to work with the oriental classic of the Ballets Russes SHÉHÉRAZADE, based on which they created an absurd love story that takes us through the history of ballet.
