In the development of «DFS», the amazing and–in the meantime, at Gessnerallee, well-known and beloved–duo François Chaignaud and Cecilia Bengolea was interested in two different art forms: on the one hand, in the rhythmic complexity of the Jamaican dancehall; and, on the other hand, in the precision, synchronicity, and vocal projection of Gregorgian polyphonic singing. On the stage, the two art forms clash with each other. Through a choreography involving a total of six dancers, an explosive mixture emerges, and, in turn, out of this, an overwhelmingly distinctive new form, whose designation remains to be invented.
