El Conde de Torrefiel
Incorporating a huge ensemble, El Conde de Torrefiel creates fascinating eerie images derived from the comfort zone of Europe. In three monumental choreographied works, a moving still life of modern everyday life unfolds: a conference, a Tai Chi lesson, and a party night. But these seemingly harmonious gatherings of a group in the heart of Europe suggest anything but an idyllic world, as above the impressive tableaux, a text hovers that humorously and disturbingly counteracts the harmony: a young generation poses questions about the future and raises doubts about its own prospects.
