BodyWalk #4

Gastgeberin Brigitte Dätwyler

Host Brigitte Dätwyler invites to a conscience sleep in other peoples beds.
Meeting point: 6 p.m. (sharp) at entrance Restaurant Reithalle

This BodyWalk takes us to a walk through the city following a daily routine and experience but in a rather uncommon setting. The artist of «Routine», one of our current performances at Gessnerallee will accompany us. Besides we would like to thank sincerely the Zurich store Bettgeschichten www.bettgeschichten.ch for their friendly support.

Brigitte Dätwyler (*1979) studied fine arts until 2005 and has been working self employed and as a lecturer for performance art and fine arts since. For her installations and performances the artist preferably uses talks and texts. She deals with the context of art business and its spaces where she investigates the dialogic potential of art. She is interested in the motivations for decorative ambitions and artistic endeavors.  Her artworks are displayed and to be lived regularly, recently and soon among others at Kunstmuseum Luzern, Swiss Art Awards, Museum für Gegenwartskunst Basel, Helmhaus Zürich etc. 2010 she received a national grant for performance art, 2009 she spent six months in an artist residency in Varanasi in India. 2017 she will stay four months in an artist residency in Paris.

BodyWalks are ... city walks led by artists that guide us to their interests or research that fokus' on body-language or body-technique, in reception and experience. This performative mediation programme can be surprising or informative, dealing with such issues as: What is normal and what is not? How do bodies communicate with each other? How societal are our bodies? What is attractive, crazy, or shameless? How much tuning can the body take? What os public and what is private?
Duration of walks: approx. 1 - 1.5 hours, free
