Years ago when Tine Van Aerschot first attended a subtitled performance, she started to develop an idea for a production in which the transition of the spoken word to the written word or the word that is read would be the central character.
«when in doubt, duck» is that performance: it turned out to be a text as an orchestral score, a performance as a concert. Thereby, however, it is not primarily the content, but especially the forms whereby the piece is presented, which become the main element of the performance: whether as projection, sound, spoken word, in movement or dance.
Tine Van Aerschot is a visual artist, who, has previously worked with Meg Stuart among others.
