Twitching, deliriously feverish movements drawn from Tarantism, classic Northern Soul dancing, and the visual vocabulary of Surrealism forge an excessively reiterative choreography that interplays with surging tone sequences to constitute a densely enmeshed composition.
Alexandra Bachzetsis, one of the leading figures of the Swiss dance scene, takes her dancers to their physical limits, shows movements that approach a state of completely dissolving in repetition, yet do not end there. A virtuoso give-and-take of music and dance, of pianists and an automatic piano in a calculated frenzy.
