A theatrical performance as a film shooting: During each of the five performance evenings, a complete version of the script will be filmed. Together with the performers, the audience appears in the film – converging with the virtual beings that have been computer-generated by artist Yves Netzhammer.
The scope of the plot revolves around a cleaning worker, an psychologist, and an art historian. For a television program, they exchange research materials about the origin channels of central African art in European collections. But suddenly an undead concept of ethnography and psychology dances among the ranks: «fetishism», a term used by psychoanalysis towards «women» and by the Northwestern world towards «primitive» beliefs to distance and thereby define themselves. From this moment on nothing further takes place as intended: The image and playing modes fight against each other and each defends itself against being appropriated. Who will be a fetish for whom?
