Oorlog is an absurd slapstick about the incomprehensibility of war, in which children, being full of passions, understand how little it takes to wreck utter chaos. On stage, seemingly haphazard rubbish, a giant total mess, prevails. Then suddenly, a skillet flies across the space. A balloon explodes, smoke comes out of a cooler, a bullet falls out of a hose. And as the seemingly never-ending chain reaction comes to a standstill, three performers in old-fashioned soldier uniforms step onto the stage and begin to speak: «We're sorry. We wanted to say something sensible, but war is too big for us too and so this is only theater.»
