The Cure
«After the cure, the healing begins.»
«The disaster is terrible, but it does us some good. Although the end of the world as we know it is traumatic, it also offers a promise of salvation. What we are experiencing right now is not the end of the world, but the collapse of our worldview. The devastation is the prerequisite for rehabilitation! We need the catastrophe so that things don’t just keep on going as usual.»
On stage, artists Benjamin Burger, Simone Truong, and Steven Schoch speak and move through a lost landscape. They explore the cathartic pleasure in catastrophes. Accompanied by the metastatic soundtrack by David Jegerlehner, they undergo rituals of catastrophic purification, mutual infection, or self-sacrifice in the search for an alleged essence.
