 Based on their study of the water element 400asa Sektion Nord develops the story of an intimate threesome between a male musician, an woman artist and a male water researcher. The piece is set in a nebulous future. In retrospect they tell the history of the miraculous musical work «Flow» that had set off a revolution of consciousness and led to the dissolution of the ego. Thanks to new technology, «Flow» can be heard anywhere where there’s water. It has been proliferated through drops of water and has introduced the age of the marine iguana. «Flow» did not only bring about esoteric healing but also a short dictatorship featuring torture chambers made of ice.
The piece works with Hollywood B-movie style means: away from the purely informative socio-critical form the piece subtly and playfully develops a dramatic action. Most of the stage crew is composed of musicians – Ted Gaier (Goldene Zitronen), Gina D'Orio (Cobra Killer), Anton Spielmann (1000Robota) and Wanda Wylowa together with the performers create a psychedelic trip through acoustic spaces.
The 400asa collective is one of the most important political theatre groups of the German speaking world and relentlessly develops new forms and contents. Since 2009 400asa Sektion Nord exists and has the author Claudia Basrawi and the musician Ted Gaier at its core.
«Flow/Wasser» led to controversial media reactions after its premiere in Basel in September, comments ranged from «rhythmic farts» (Tageswoche) to »innovative and irritating» (DRS 2). Zurich can’t wait to see it.
