Ioannis Mandafounis already thrilled the audience of the Gessnerallee in 2010 with his physical game of confusion «P.A.D.» and he is coming to Zurich again this February. Together with the dancer and choreographer May Zarhy he created the duett «Pausing» in which they work on the impossibility of representing the moment with most fascinating, delicate movements. The movements are inscrutable and captivating at the same time. Are they imaginative scenes or ephemeral excerpts of reality? A possible image appears and vanishes immediately. We observe, we don’t understand – but we’d want the evening to go on like this forever. The present shines through those short moments of vanishing.
