(M)IMOSA

Bengolea / Chaignaud / Harrell / Monteiro Freitas

What would have happened in 1963 if members of the Harlem Voguing scene went downtown to perform together with the pioneers of postmodern dance at Judson Church? This is the question the New York based choreographer Trajal Harrell asks in his series «Twenty Looks or Paris is Burning at The Judson Church». His research on the parallel development of postmodern dance and Voguing has yielded pieces in various sizes: (S), (XS) and most recently (M), «(M)IMOSA», which he developed together with Cecilia Bengolea, François Chaignaud and Marlene Monteiro Freitas.
